Whitman Brands has introduced a new series of coin albums aimed at meeting the evolving needs of today’s collectors.
Called Whitman Prestige, the line builds on the company’s longstanding tradition of functional, informative storage solutions while offering updated features and a more refined presentation.
Designed as an enhanced successor to the well-known Whitman Classic line, the Prestige albums are larger and sturdier, featuring soil-resistant leatherette covers and protective slipcases. Each album measures 7.8 by 9.4 inches and is available in a variety of finishes and colours, with prices starting at $69.95 USD. In Canada, collectors can acquire the new Prestige albums through CoinStampSupplies.com, an official Whitman distributor owned by Canadian Coin News. For more information or to place an order, collectors can contact CSS at info@trajan.ca or call 1-800-408-0352.
“The community was ready for something new,” said John Feigenbaum, president and CEO of Whitman Brands. “My mandate to the team was to create a premium coin album that is both elegant and functional — and designed with the collector in mind. The result is, I believe, the new standard in storage and display for years to come.”
The initial release includes albums for several major U.S. coin series: Lincoln cents (1909–1958, 1959–2008, and from 2009 to present), Statehood quarters (1999–2009), Liberty Walking half dollars (1916–1947), Kennedy half dollars (1964–1996 and 1997–2026), Morgan dollars (1878–1891 and 1892–1921), Peace dollars (1921–1935), and American Silver Eagles (1986–2021 and from 2021 to present). Albums can be viewed or ordered directly from Whitman’s website.
More titles are expected soon, including Buffalo nickels, Jefferson nickels, Mercury dimes, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, and Franklin half dollars. Each album includes clear plastic slides to protect both sides of the coins, thumb notches for easier page access, and Whitman’s hallmark of detailed labeling, historical notes, mintage data, and coin series specifications.
“The new line gave us the chance to make subtle but important improvements,” said Patrick Ian Perez, Whitman’s chief publishing officer. “We brought current coin series more up to date, improved organization for sets spanning multiple volumes, and kept Proof coins separate from circulating issues. We also removed varieties not practical for album storage and standardized terminology across the board.”
Albums are available in black and burgundy with three spine widths depending on the series.
