The Ontario Numismatic Association (ONA) has unveiled its new nine-person editorial team that’s set to begin production with the May-June issue of The Ontario Numismatist.
The team includes:
- editorial director Cassidy Stroud;
- editor Mary-Anne Luzba;
- proofreader Ron Cheek;
- website and communications manager Henry Nienhuis;
- indexer Wilf Lauber; and
- four others, including Sean Sinclair, Rick Dupuis, Scott Douglas and Robb McPherson.
Luzba replaces outgoing editor Judy Blackman, who served in that role for more than five years.
While Luzba and Sinclair are new additions to the bimonthly journal’s editorial team, Douglas, McPherson, Cheek, Nienhuis and Lauber have all worked with The Ontario Numismatist for several years.
“We are looking for article submissions from new authors for the May-June issue of the Numismatist,” Sinclair, who’s also the ONA’s incoming president, posted on the association’s Facebook group on Feb. 21. “The Numismatist will be redesigned and updated for the next issue and it would be nice to feature some new contributors.”
The ONA’s formation committee was established in March 1961, when representatives of several Ontario clubs met at the Waterloo Coin Society’s second annual banquet. Seven months later, in October 1961, those representatives issued a feasibility report, and the following month, the ONA began issuing The Ontario Numismatist, with one edition published each month through June 1962, a month after the association hosted its founding convention.
