The Ontario Numismatic Association (ONA) has partnered with Trajan Publishing to host its 2022 convention in conjunction with the spring National Postage Stamp & Coin Show, to be held April 8-10.
Trajan will organize the bourse, which will feature about 50 coin and stamp dealers from across Canada, while the ONA will add several educational and social events, including the club delegates’ breakfast, symposium and banquet, typically held at its annual convention.
Next year also marks the ONA’s 60th anniversary. The association is inviting people to submit design concepts relating to Ontario or Mississauga or marking its diamond jubilee. The deadline to submit designs, which should be directed to ONA President Sean Sinclair at president@the-ona.ca, is Oct. 31.
2020 ONA MEDAL AT SPRING AUCTION
At the spring 2022 Premier Auction, hosted by Colonial Acres in conjunction with the National Show, the ONA will offer one non-numbered silver medal struck for its 2020 convention.
While the ONA executive committee decided to produce what Sinclair called “a small quantity” of numbered silver medals using the original 2020-dated die, only one non-numbered medal will be offered at next spring’s auction. It will be the only 2020-dated medal available to the general public, Sinclair said.
The numbered medals were exclusively available to ONA executive members and people who held an appointed position with the association in 2020.
ONA members can still order medals featuring this year’s modified design – created from the 2020 die for the association’s 2021 virtual convention – until Aug. 31. The medals are available in brass ($20), nickel ($30) and silver ($70). To place an order, contact ONA Treasurer Robb McPherson at treasurer@the-ona.ca before the end of August.
