North Carolina collector wins Heritage Auctions’ $10,000 pize

Continuing a tradition spanning more than two decades, Heritage Auctions has awarded its prestigious $10,000 auction credit to Fred Gutnick, a dedicated numismatist from North Carolina.

This annual prize is drawn among participants in the firm’s widely anticipated numismatic survey, which gathers insights and feedback from collectors worldwide.

The $10,000 credit can be used by Gutnick on Heritage’s extensive inventory or applied toward bids in any of the firm’s upcoming auctions through the end of 2025. This opportunity provides a significant boost for collectors looking to expand their collections with rare and high-value items.

Heritage Auctions is set to kick off the new year with several noteworthy events. The U.S. Coins Signature auctions include the COL Steven K. Ellsworth Collection of U.S. Large Cents from 1796-1814, taking place on Jan. 9, followed by the FUN U.S. Coins Signature Auction, scheduled from Jan. 14-19. Additionally, collectors of world coins will find treasures in the NYINC Platinum Session World & Ancient Coins Signature Auction on Jan. 13.

Heritage’s annual $10,000 prize has become a hallmark of its commitment to engaging with the numismatic community, fostering a shared passion for the hobby, and recognizing the importance of collector input. This year’s winner joins a distinguished list of collectors who have benefited from the firm’s dedication to enriching the collecting experience.
