The Newman Numismatic Portal (NNP), a free online numismatic archive and encyclopedia, reached the five-million-page mark this March.
Among auction sales, the NNP hosts 12,888 catalogues comprising more than 1.13 million pages (23 per cent of the total collection by page count). The largest contributors include Heritage Auctions (5.1 per cent) and Stack’s Bowers (2.1 per cent).
A large portion of the NNP collection is formed by periodicals, which span nearly 35,500 items across 2.32 million pages (46 per cent of the total size). High runners in the periodical group include Coin World (6.6 per cent), The Numismatist (3.7 per cent) and Numismatic News (3.1 per cent). Among archival holdings, the National Archives U.S. Mint series comprises 9.1 per cent of the NNP’s entire page count while the Eric P. Newman research papers come in at 1.7 per cent.
