The Manitoba Coin Club (MCC) has named a new honorary life member.
On June 4 at the Royal Canadian Mint‘s Winnipeg facility, where the MCC held its 2022 annual general meeting, interim president Ken Dobson honoured long-time member Kelvin Neufeld for his ongoing dedication to the club.
An MCC member for more than 20 years, including more than half a decade as its treasurer, Neufeld was also recognized for his “advancement of numismatic studies and enhancement of the numismatic hobby,” according to the June edition of Bison Tales, the MCC newsletter. “Ken emphasized Kelvin’s dedication, hard work, diligence, various committee contributions, and Kelvin’s vision to further strengthen and grow the Manitoba Coin Club, as he presented Kelvin with a plaque and card.”
At its June meeting, the MCC also displayed two showcases, one highlighting the club’s recent history (from 2000 through the present day) and another one touching on its early history (from the 1950s and ’60s)
