The American Numismatic Society (ANS) recently announced it will fold The Colonial Newsletter (CNL) and replace it with The Journal of Early American Numismatics (JEAN), a new research journal focusing on the numismatics of all of the Americas.
Founded in 1960, the CNL continuously published some of the most scholarly and seminal studies exploring early U.S. numismatics. Focusing on the study of the coinages produced by the states during the Confederation period of the U.S., the CNL also investigated a variety of other specie the U.S.’s forefathers used in their daily lives. JEAN will be published as a bound scholarly journal twice a year, in June and December.
Article proposals can be submitted to editor Christopher McDowell. Note that JEAN has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism and will not publish articles that include items currently in (or being prepared for) commerce.
