New Issue: Royal Mint Bullion announces first-ever Britannia platinum bullion coin

The Royal Mint’s Bullion division has launched a new “first”—the introduction of its classic Britannia one-ounce coin struck in platinum.

The move will allow those wishing to invest in Royal Mint Bullion another choice when diversifying their portfolio.

“I am delighted to announce the introduction of Britannia platinum coins to our world-respected line-up of bullion coins,” said Director of Bullion for the Royal Mint Chris Howard. “This marks an historic moment in The Royal Mint’s Britannia Bullion story, and provides a fantastic opportunity for us to widen our offering to bullion investors still further.”

It’s the first Britannia coin stuck by the Royal Mint in platinum.

BRITANNIA

For 2,000 years, Britannia has personified a nation. A symbol of strength and progress, she’s a reassuringly familiar presence—a constant through change, standing watch at the edge of the shoreline. Coins bearing her image symbolize the heritage of British minting to investors around the world.

The introduction of the platinum Britannia follows last year’s successful launch of rhe Royal Mint’s first platinum bullion products and forms part of its growing partnership with the World Platinum Investment Council.

“The launch of The Royal Mint platinum Britannia is further proof of platinum’s unique properties as an attractive investment asset,” said David Crawford, program manager at the World Platinum Investment Council. “The Britannia is amongst the world’s most recognizable bullion coin ranges, and we’re delighted The Royal Mint is expanding the Britannia range to include platinum for the first time.”
