Pheli Mint—a new private Canadian minting company—has announced a number of new releases.
Among the new numismatic items is the 2016-dated Temptation of the Succubus Proof silver round, which completes the finish options available for this year. The Proof finish offers a “highly polished and almost mirrored surface in the background that really allows the Succubus to stand out in the foreground,” according to the mint, which added customers who have purchased the Brilliant Uncirculated and Antique finish rounds will received the Proof round with matching serial numbers.
While the reverse depicts a image of the Succubus, the obverse features the Pheli Mint logo, which is an artistic representation of symbols that are meaningful to co-founders Phil Beauchamp and Eli Richter.
Each two-ounce round has a 47.18-mm diameter and split reeded edges with edge numbering. There is a mintage of 2,500 pieces.
2 oz. FINE SILVER ROUND
Pheli Mint also announced the release of a Canada 150 round.
The obverse depicts the official Canada 150 logo created by Ariana Cuvin, of Toronto, Ont. The logo was chosen from more than 300 entries in a nation-wide contest, in which students were invited to submit designs to represent the 150th anniversary of Confederation.
The round has a reflective Proof finish in the background, “which really makes the logo pop,” according to the mint.
The obverse of this round also depicts the Pheli Mint logo alongside markings indicating its weight and silver content. With a weight of two ounces and and 47.18-mm diameter, it’s the largest silver Canada 150 round to be released. It has a mintage of 150 pieces.
