The National Postage Stamp & Coin Show, set for April 5–6 at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, promises a weekend full of highlights for collectors of all ages. Among the top attractions are a timely seminar unveiling a new counterfeit Canadian toonie, a free youth auction, and the 82nd annual exhibition of the North Toronto Stamp Club (NTSC).
On Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m., counterfeit coin expert Mike Marshall will present a special seminar focused on the latest discovery involving a fake Canadian $2 coin. Marshall, who has played a leading role in tracking and analyzing counterfeits circulating across the country, will share insights into the production and identification of this newest toonie fraud. His presentation will help collectors and dealers protect themselves from these deceptive pieces.
The show also features the return of the always popular youth auction, held Sunday, April 6, at 1 p.m. and open to collectors aged 16 and under. Coordinated by RCNA Youth Program Co-ordinator Cassidy Stroud, the auction gives young hobbyists the chance to bid on real numismatic items using play money earned by participating in youth zone activities. It’s a fun, educational way to engage the next generation of collectors.
Throughout the weekend, the NTSC will host its 82nd Annual Exhibition, offering a wide range of competitive philatelic exhibits. The displays cover everything from postal history to topical collections and provide a glimpse into the dedication and creativity of Canadian exhibitors. Visitors are invited to explore and learn from these one-frame and multi-frame exhibits, many of which showcase years of careful research and collecting.
With more than 50 dealers from across the country on the bourse, the show will feature stamps, coins, banknotes, covers, supplies, and more. The bourse runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $6 on Saturday and $3 on Sunday, with free parking available for attendees who register at the door.
Whether you’re a veteran collector or just starting out, this weekend’s National Postage Stamp & Coin Show offers an engaging experience for everyone in the hobby.
