The American Numismatic Association (ANA) recently announced Kagin’s will serve as the official auctioneer of the 2017 National Money Show, which will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., on March 9-11.
“Don Kagin is a long-time supporter of our numismatic educational mission, and I couldn’t be more pleased to have him partner with the ANA in support of our National Money Show in this role,” said ANA Executive Director Kim Kiick.
Kagin President Don Kagin said his team is “honoured and thrilled” to once again be selected as the ANA’s official auctioneer.
“We’re excited to introduce several new and innovative features that will push the auction envelope and drive the ANA’s mission of numismatic education including offering free one year and lifetime virtual ANA memberships to qualifying consignors and purchasers.”
DESIGN CONTEST
A $5,000 USD prize is also being offered by Kagin’s, which is holding a design contest to choose the cover of the auction catalogue for next year’s sale.
Kagin said any medium—such as paintings, sketches or digital works— will be accepted. The contest is open to everyone, and an independent review panel will choose the winning design.
“We want to encourage everyone—young artists to professionals from inside or outside our numismatic community,” said Kagin. “We believe numismatics is fun, educational and exciting and want to use this opportunity to demonstrate to the art and auction world how imaginative and cutting edge numismatics can be.”
The deadline for submissions is Dec. 15.
Contestants can submit up to three entries electronically to nina@kagins.com.
