Rare N.B. pattern set, Indigenous medals among highlights at Geoffrey Bell auction

In an exciting debut, Geoffrey Bell Auctions’ Sale No. 31 on Oct. 4 will showcase the late founder’s inaugural medal offering, headlined by Indian Peace medals and the exceptionally rare Province of Canada/New Brunswick trial and pattern set of 10 pieces.   This highly anticipated auction is expected to attract significant attention from collectors and historians alike, serving as a tribute to Geoffrey Bell’s dedication to numismatics and Canadian history.  The revered dealer and collector passed away on July 24, leaving behind a legacy that profoundly shaped the Canadian banknote scene and the broader numismatic industry. Geoff’s influence, developed over decades, will continue to inspire future generations of collectors and dealers. Geoffrey Bell Auctions, founded in 2008 by Geoff alongside his son Brian and daughter-in-law Dawn, remains at the forefront of the industry, carrying forward his passion for the history and artistry of coins, medals, and banknotes. This upcoming auction, featuring Bell’s initial medal collection, stands as a testament to his enduring impact and commitment to the numismatic world.  Continue reading →
