The Hamilton Coin Society (HCS) has been given the green light to resume its monthly programming at the club’s original meeting venue in the city’s east end.
“We look forward to welcoming all previous and new members out to our first post-COVID meeting on Monday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. (ET),” said member Robb McPherson. “As with all clubs, it has been a long haul with no meetings as we didn’t go with the virtual Zoom meetings.”
The HCS meets at St. Michael’s Anglican Church on 1188 Fennell Ave. E. in Hamilton, Ont. While the club held its first meeting in 2019, it was soon forced to take a hiatus due to the pandemic.
An earlier Hamilton-based club was also formed in 1956 before hosting the annual convention of what was then known as the Canadian Numismatic Association, or “CNA,” (now the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association) a year later. The club hosted another four CNA conventions – in 1961, 1974, 1984 and 1994 – before folding.
