Famous footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic featured on artist-inspired banknote

Swedish pro footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who’s served as captain of the Sweden national team from 2010 until his retirement from international football in 2016, was recently commemorated on a massive piece of pop art by photographer Bingo Rimer.

Rimer, who’s also from Sweden, featured Ibrahimovic on the country’s 1,000-krona banknote; however, the artistic rendering is not legal tender. The real 1,000 krona note features Dag Hammarskjöld, a former Swedish diplomat who is the only U.N. Secretary-General to die in office.

2014 STAMPS

Ibrahimovic was also recently commemorated on a Swedish postage stamp.

In March 2014, the Swedish Postal Service, PostNord, released a five-stamp set featuring the iconic footballer.

Ibrahimovic was also featured on a set of five stamps issued by PostNord in 2014.
