Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) was recently chosen by Drs. Joanne and Edward Dauer to re-holder their prestigious Bermuda Collection in PMG’s new “crystal-clear” holder.
PMG Chairman Mark Salzberg said to display the highest-graded complete Bermuda pre-decimal collection in existence, the Dauers needed the “highest-quality holder” to match. The couple chose the new PMG holder for its “museum-quality display, crystal-clear optics and long-term preservation.”
“As with any currency collector, Joanne and I look for superior presentation and preservation for our collections,” said Dauer. “The new PMG holder delivers the best of both worlds.”
Assembled over many years, the 32 notes in the Dauer’s Bermuda Collection are widely recognized as the finest known to exist.
Salzberg said the Dauers have used PMG to certify many of the most important rarities in their collection, including an 1863 U.S. $1,000 note in PMG About Uncirculated-53 and a 1925 Canada DC-29 $1,000 note in PMG Extremely Fine-40.
“Eddie and Joanne Dauer have built an impressive collection of Bermuda pre-decimal notes,” added Salzberg. “We are very happy that the visual and archival benefits of PMG’s new holder inspired them to re-holder such a fine collection.”
DAUER COLLECTION OF U.S. CURRENCY
The PMG website includes an interactive section that displays the Dauer Collection of U.S. currency.
“This gallery includes selected Demand Notes, Legal Tender Notes, Treasury Notes, National Bank Notes, and Gold Certificates,” reads the website. “The notes displayed represent a small subsection of their collection. Many of the notes shown here were selected by the Dauers to illustrate the Type as a plate note in their award-winning book, American History as Seen Through Currency.”
