For the first time since January 2020, the Canadian Association of Numismatic Dealers (CAND) will welcome collectors back to Hamilton, Ont., for its annual winter convention. As it did in pre-pandemic years, the Jan. 28-29 CAND Convention will serve as the first major coin show of the year.
“We are thrilled the CAND show is returning after the pandemic hiatus,” said CAND President Michael Findlay. “Our members from across Canada will be bringing a wide selection of currency to the two-day show.” Returning to the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel ballroom at 116 King St. W., the show will open to the public on Jan. 28 at 10 a.m., but CAND members will gather for the association’s annual general meeting before the doors open. Opening both days at 10 a.m., the show will close at 5 p.m. on Jan. 28 and 3 p.m. the following day. Admission is $5 on Jan. 28 but free on closing day, and show-goers can find indoor parking at the parking garage adjacent to the hotel.
The Sheraton’s special room rate for the show’s attendees starts at $149 a night. For more details, visit the hotel’s website at bit.ly/3Y22csS. Organized in 1975, CAND is a non-profit association of about 50 Canadian and U.S. dealers who follow a strict code of ethics.
