British Columbia’s Nanotech Security Corp. launched what it calls a “breakthrough security feature product” at the Banknote 2018 Conference in Texas this May.
Dubbed “M2,” this security feature is the company’s first commercial product to use its patented “KolourOptik” nano-structure origination technology. It pairs multi-colour images with multi-dimensional movement. Viewable at numerous angles, these interactive elements encourage users to maneuver and tilt a banknote.
According to Nanotech, M2 is “exceptionally thin and suitable to many application processes and all substrates,” including those used for Canadian banknotes as well as government identification, stamps, luxury goods, event tickets and pharmaceuticals.
