After two years of pandemic cancellations, the Brantford Numismatic Society (BNS) held its 59th annual show on June 12.
About 40 dealers and large crowds of collectors turned out to the show’s usual venue, the Branlyn Community Centre, with “lots of activity and volunteers on hand to help out,” according to attendee Peter Becker, of Kitchener, Ont., the secretary of the nearby Waterloo Coin Society.
“Today, a lot of sales are online,” BNS President Mike Dignard told the local Brantford Expositor newspaper a day after the show. “But you know what you’re getting when you come to a show. You get to know the dealers. You know you’re getting the real thing.”
With nearly 60 members, the BNS hosts its annual show every June and meets on the third Sunday of each month (except June, July, August and December).
