It’s being billed as the auction house’s “best sale of the past 10 years,” and for good reason.
The Canadian Numismatic Company’s upcoming Torex Auction, scheduled to take place this June 24-26 at Hyatt Regency Toronto, is offering bidders a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to own a “fabulous” piece of Canadian history: an 1890H 50-cent coin in International Coin Certification Service (ICCS) Mint State-65.
‘BLAST WHITE WITH NO FLAWS’
Auctioneer Eric Paquet describes this museum piece as “fully lustrous issue with superb fields.”
“It’s the solo highest graded 1890H issue on the market,” Paquet added. “It’s a fabulous piece – it’s blast white with no flaws – and an almost perfect example of 1890 half.”
It’s estimated to cross the block at $350,000-$375,000; it has an opening bid of $225,000.
