ANA recognizes David Crenshaw with Presidential Award

At the Georgia Numismatic Association’s annual banquet earlier this month, special guest and American Numismatic Association (ANA) President Jeff Garrett recognized one individual’s consistent contributions to the hobby as well as the ANA over the past few decades.

“For his service to our hobby, it is my pleasure to honor David Crenshaw with the ANA Presidential Award,” said Garrett.

Crenshaw worked as a programmer for Whitman Publishing from 2004-13 and was tasked to assist with one of the largest privately run coin shows in the country, the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Expo, of which he was eventually made general manager. He’s currently chief operating officer of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets, “where he has been a resounding success,” Garrett added.

“He works tirelessly on behalf of numismatic dealers and hobbyists, traveling around the country to meet with coin clubs and other groups, deliver presentations, and provide legislative testimony on matters of great importance to our industry.”

All the while Crenshaw continues to share his wealth of experience – as well as the “gift of his time,” said Garrett – with other collectors; the ANA’s Young Numismatists; the ANA Summer Seminars; and various coin clubs. He frequently authors numismatic articles and has won awards from the ANA and other organizations for his service to the hobby.
