ANA Legacy Dinner celebrates Mark Salzberg, Rick Montgomery

NGC leaders to discuss recent years’ influences, successes

Visitors to the Orlando National Money Show are invited to attend the American Numismatic Association (ANA) Legacy Dinner on March 9 to celebrate the contributions of Mark Salzberg and Rick Montgomery of Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).

Guests will learn about Salzberg and Montgomery’s personal interests as well as how the two men have influenced the grading industry. There will also be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view famous specimens from Salzberg’s personal collection.

The ticket price of $110 includes a three-course dinner and the Legacy Series interview. Attendees will also receive a pair of 1987-S proof Washington quarters encapsulated with an NGC 30th anniversary label hand-signed by Salzberg and Montgomery—the first ever issued with their autographs. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. in the Sunburst Room at the Orange County Convention Center, located at 9800 International Dr. Seating is limited.

The ANA Legacy Series, moderated by Barbara Gregory, editor-in-chief of The Numismatist, acquaints collectors with the legends, heroes and icons of numismatics, celebrating their lives and contributions. Proceeds from the dinner will help support the program.

For additional information or to register for the event, contact ANA Membership Services Representative Christie Vigil at 719-482-9815.

The ANA Legacy Series was introduced in 2015. Past instalments have celebrated the lives of professional numismatists Fred Weinberg, Q. David Bowers, Ray Dillard, Steve Ivy, Jim Halperin and David Sundman. The taped interviews shed light on the accomplishments, successes and early memories of the hobby’s top luminaries. All interviews are recorded and posted on both the ANA’s YouTube channel.
