$5K in coins stolen in Belleville

Officers with the Belleville Police Service are investigating a break and enter in the southern Ontario city.

On Sept. 2, police were called to an address on the rural Ritz Road near Honeywell Corners, north of Highway 401, in regards to a break and enter. Upon arrival, officers were told an unknown suspect entered the residence sometime between Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. and Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. and removed about $5,000 in coins.

The Belleville Police Service’s forensic unit attended and processed the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
